The Trust Printshop Blog

Hello. My name is Jesse MacKenzie. I’m a recreational musician, a sub-par writer, an unabashedly avid sports fan, and a spare-time artist, but first and foremost, I am the Creative Director here at Trust Printshop. You’ve probably figured things out by now, but if you somehow stumbled onto this page by accident, this is the first post of the Trust Printshop Blog (TPBlog for short). Starting out I will be handling most of the writing duties for the blog because I have the most free time (shhh… don’t tell anyone), but I will be collecting ideas from everyone at Trust for posts and eventually others will be contributing to the writing as well.

Trust Printshop is a high quality screen printing company in Fort Worth, Texas. We print exclusively on garments (currently) with two ten-color automatic presses and an incredible team. If you don’t know much about us I highly encourage that you pause reading my rambling and head over to trustprintshop.com to learn more about this pretty cool company thing we’ve got going on.

So why does a screen printing company need a blog? “Need” is maybe a strong word, but mostly we are bursting with ideas and we wanted a platform to share them. The core purpose of the blog is twofold: to create an avenue for geeking out about screen printing with fellow artists, and to share advice and knowledge with anyone looking to enhance their brand with custom garments. Expanding out from there, we will also be diving into the daily grind of Trust Printshop. We think we are doing great things here, so we will be keeping you up to date with what and how we are doing things, hoping to inspire and inform other printers and other small businesses. We will also try our best to address new technologies and innovations within the screen printing, art, and designs communities. And most of all, we just think it will be a blast to hear ourselves talk.

And what is this going to look like? The blog will be made up of different types of posts covering a wide range of topics. Anything that we are interested in and we think other people might be interested in is fair game. We hope to expand and contract our ideas for this based on the reception it gets, but right now we have a few things planned. We will be doing some long form posts on our big ideas regarding printing, designs, t-shirts, business practices, and community. We will be posting tutorials, hints, and tips on various topics related to designing for screen printing and t-shirt design. We will be educating people on screen printing itself, exploring the ins-and-outs of what we find to be a fascinating artform. And finally, we will be providing a window into the heart of Trust—introducing you to our team, showing you what makes us different, and spotlighting various pieces of our system. We will also be archiving our monthly newsletters so we can all look back and see us grow.

That’s about all I have for now, I think this is long and rambling enough for an introductory post. We do have a great comment system set up through Disqus, so if you create an account you can track all of your comments and replies. We will be very active in the comments answering questions or just talking about whatever. Please feel free to give us feedback and leave a comment on this post if you have any ideas or requests for future articles.

Jesse is our Creative Director. He splits his time between the Art Department and Creative duties, looking to innovate and push the company in both areas (unless he overslept.)
