Victory over Violence 5k

Trust had the awesome opportunity this month to participate in the Victory over Violence 5k this year to support The Women’s Center in Tarrant County. Our Creative Photographer Olivia’s mom spent many years working at The Women’s Center, and she approached us about forming a team. We had incredible participation, as our small shop brought a team of 18 people and 1 dog decked out in gold team t-shirts.

Trust represented itself quite well in the race. Shockingly well in fact, taking home 2nd and 3rd place individual age-group trophies and the coveted 3rd place for fastest team overall. The 5k was a great experience. We got to help a great cause, we got to exercise together, and we got to grow as a group.

Broomball

Trust Plays Broomball

The second highly athletic activity we did this month was Broomball at the Parks Mall. After free skate shut down the ice was ours for an intense hour-long battle of wills and of balance. Trust employees, friends, and family gave it their all and shared some high quality fun. When the ice had settled, Team Good Team (my team) was victorious in a stunning comeback over Team Not as Good Team.

The MVP award went to a very deserving Jeremy Sloat in the loss, and only one person had to take a trip to the emergency room. Just before halftime, Ryan Johnson took a fall on a fast break and tried to break through the ice with his eye socket. Unfortunately he was unsuccessful and instead had to go get stitches. He has almost fully recovered at this point and says that his Broomball career is long from over. Even with the injury, overall it was a great night and a great time had by all. And it only took us a week to stop being too sore to walk normally!

Trust Turns Twelve

Trust Turns 12 Years Old

Well this year flew by, and here we are again at Trust’s 12th birthday. Our 12th year of existence was another massive one. We added 5 team members, we decked out the exterior of our shop, we grew consistently, and we printed like—so many shirts.

Trust Turns 12 Years Old

This is the year that Trust matured a lot. We’ve always had such a raw, passionate approach to business, but eventually structure is necessary along with that passion. We spent a huge amount of time and effort this year working on becoming as great at being a business as we are at printing. Ryan moved into an Operations Manager role and introduced some awesome structure to our system. We are still very far away from our end goal, but the progress we have seen so far is very encouraging.

Growing Opportunities

Trust is Hiring!

We have put this all over social media, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Trust is looking to hire several new team members in production. Trust has grown steadily for it’s entire history, but what we have seen in the past few months is amazing. This growth opens up a great opportunity to add to our Trust Family. Print of the Month

Print of the Month: VBS 2016 for Cornerstone Rockwall

Cornerstone Rockwall — VBS 2016

Magna Aquaflex White on Canvas 3001 – Heather Team Purple

If we haven’t already made it super clear, we love simplicity. This design from Cornerstone Rockwall takes a simple design and adds some subtle gradients to make something great. This is also a great example of using the shirt color wisely. The purple blends with the white halftones to create the shadows in the design, saving a color and creating a more cohesive piece.

This month’s shirt was printed with Aquaflex White from Magna Colours. We’ve spent the last few weeks digging fully into Magna’s system, and prints like this make all that time feel worthwile. Our previous waterbase inks had troubles with halftones, but Magna holds beautifully. You can see for yourself how smoothly it ramps down into the shirt. Unless you’re attending Cornerstone’s VBS you’ll have to take my word for it, but the print is incredibly soft and smooth, even in the solid white letters.

Jesse is our Creative Director. He splits his time between the Art Department and Creative duties, looking to innovate and push the company in both areas (unless he overslept.)
