This Newsletter is Full of Puppies!
Shop Dogs
It has been well documented that Trust has fantastic shop dogs. This was finally confirmed in print as 360 West magazine visited us to meet Lucky, Veda, and Walter and do a photoshoot for the August edition of the magazine.
Meda and Ron were so nice and patient with our crazy dogs and got some awesome photos of the shop, our team, and the pups.
You can read it on their website in the August 2016 Digital Edition!
A couple weeks ago our dog team grew again as Marc adopted the very sweet and very adorable Luna. Add in our less frequent visitors Susie and Dakota, and Trust is almost constantly full of high canine quality.
Big Jobs
At Trust our work is spread out and diversified (by design), but sometimes we get hit with a few massive orders all at once. August was definitely the month of big orders. The first was a huge job for our good friends at Valley Creek Church. This order turned out as pretty as any we’ve done before: each shirt was printed with beautiful HSA ink, rolled, and tied with twine and an encouraging tag. It was a difficult order to put together, but we got it done and our after work wrapping party was a super fun time for the team.
Some of the nerdier members of our team (most of us) were excited to see the names “Bethesda” and “Quake” pop up on our jobs list this month. We got to print a large order for QuakeCon 2016, a massive video game conference put on in Dallas every year. The shirts turned out great with super-soft discharge grey on Next Level blanks.
Transition and Fresh Faces
It seems like every other month we are talking about new people and adding to our team. In part this is due to the fact that the people we have hired this year are working super hard to catch up to the high demands of our production processes. A couple of our new production team members will be familiar. First, Olivia moves from a part time photographer position into full time Pre-Production, assisting Ryan in everything that happens before jobs hit the presses. Second, our old friend Josh brings a veteran presence and a cultured perspective from his world travels back into the Trust team, re-joining us in a Quality Control position.
The first fresh face to the team is Leo. Leo was previously a nutritionist at the Fort Worth Zoo, and he joins us as a printer. Next up, Sean joins the team as a printer. Sean comes to us with extensive screen printing experience, and we are very excited with the prospect of him coming in and quickly transitioning to Trust’s processes and techniques. Finally, Ren joins our post-production team from the world of food. We met Ren at Spiral Diner on one of our countless visits and she totally impressed us with her friendly attitude and hard work.
Print of the Month
Fort Worth Locals — Home Purple
1 Color HSA on Canvas 3001 – White
—
This month’s print comes from our friends at Fort Worth Locals. Fort Worth Locals showcase local businesses and attractions on their blog and through social media. Trust was actually featured last year. Each article is full of helpful information and awesome pictures exploring the amazing, vibrant culture of Fort Worth.
This shirt is a fantastic example of an interesting one color design. I love the brush texture and hand-made imperfections that our halftones are able to capture. Clean, polished vector designs are great, but some of my favorite prints come straight from a scan of a drawing or a painting.
The HSA ink is a perfect match for the design, giving us an incredibly soft hand with the strong purple color. Canvas makes some of our favorite shirts, and the white 3001 is a classic that is both durable and soft with a great fit.
