Trust Newsletter: June 2015
Trust Blog Update
If you’re reading this in our email newsletter, then you’ve probably already heard all about our blog. And if you’re reading this on the blog then you are a step ahead. We now have five full articles posted with several more in the works. We are really excited about the opportunity the blog has given us to expand our voice and dig deeper into our work and processes. So far we have learned all about our Customer Representatives, we have listed some great tools for t-shirt designers, we have taken apart our mockups process to explore its intricacies, and much more. We also just added a subscription function so you can receive an email whenever we post a new article.
Making Our Shop a Home
It already seems like we have been in our new shop in Fort Worth for ages, even though it has only been six months. We have been so busy that we haven’t really had a chance to make it our own. We decided that we had been staring at blank white walls for long enough, so this month we began the long process of making our shop a real home for Trust Printshop. We have barely scratched the surface, but this is what we have accomplished so far:
We (Jeremy) started on the exterior of the shop by laying down a solid grey canvas for us to build on.
Our next step was a large scale mural of CMYK Pantone swatches on the side of the building facing the street. We are still in progress, with the lettering on the swatches left to accomplish.
Moving to the interior of the shop. We have shown off this mural a lot, because we are so proud of it. It is a big piece of making this place feel like home. In fact we liked it so much that we hired one of its creators.
Our latest project is our front lobby. We really wanted a beautiful introduction to Trust for our visitors, and we think we have accomplished just that with a text-based introduction to the company and a space to show off the work we are most proud of.
New Team Members
It has been such a crazy couple of months that we haven’t had an opportunity to officially recognize two new team members we have added. In fact, it has already been long enough that we barely remember life without them.
Katie Summers first impressed us when she helped out with our Prima Group Art Show in March and she hasn’t stopped impressing us yet. Katie joined us as a Quality Control Specialist, but she has proved to be much more than that. She is a little ball of energy, which she turns into tireless work and a constant search for ways to speed up production and help out our printers.
Robin Adkison (a.k.a. Robin 1000) is our newest printer, whom you might remember as a featured artist in our Prima Group Art Show. Robin holds down Press 1 as a Printer under the tutelage of Taylor Poston. We wouldn’t describe him as “high energy”, but his background as a self-made artist has translated beautifully into hard work, a great mindset, and quickly improving printing skills.
