Arts Goggle

Arts Goggle is an annual event put on by Fort Worth South Inc. It has been running for over ten years, highlighting local businesses and artists, bringing attention to the incredible Magnolia St. and Near Southside, and fostering friendship within the Fort Worth Community. This was Trust’s second year at Arts Goggle partnering with our great friends at Schaefer Advertising Co.

Arts Goggle 1

This year Schaefer built a 40 foot chalkboard wall and let passersby contribute to the art. In honor of the chalk wall, we decided to live print limited edition t-shirts with chalk based ink. You may remember a few months ago we printed with coffee ink. Even though the chalk didn’t smell as good, it opened up a ton of possibilities for bright colors and color mixing. All shirt sales from the event benefitted Southside’s Art South Program.

Shameless Blog Promotion

Our blog has been up and running for a few months now and we have packed it full of knowledge and insight into Trust, screenprinting, and art. I know you already get our newsletter, but if you’re interested in what Trust does and how we do it—or if you are intrigued by any of our featured posts—we would love for you to check it out. These are some of our favorite blog posts from the last couple months.

Compete Every Day Blog Compete Everyday Spotlight

The inaugural Customer Spotlight post. We dig into one of our best business friends, the motivational lifestyle brand Compete Every Day. We’ve spent over three years with CED growing together and pushing each other.

Distressed Blog Post

Distressed Art Tutorials

Jesse is our Creative Director and writes a good number of our blog posts, as well as this very newsletter (ok you got me). I see a lot of art come through our system, and distressed designs (especially distressed text) are incredibly common. I see a lot of great distressed designs, but I also see a lot of poor ones, so I thought I would share my humble techniques for distressing text. I did a tutorial in Illustratorand one in Photoshop, for anyone looking to create distressed art who isn’t sure where to start.

Justin Blog Post Common Oversights in Art

Maybe the best blog post we have done so far. Probably because it was guest written by the impeccable Justin White. Justin taps into his countless hours spent working with customers’ art to walk us through some common mistakes and oversight that can make a great piece of art turn out not-so-great. He also demonstrates the best way to set up a file for the best printing results.

Newsletter Blog Post Newsletters Archive

Do you love our newsletters? Do you love them so much that you want to read them over and over again? We didn’t think so, but we made them available anyways! The link above will take you to an archive of all our past newsletters where you can re-read them or leave a comment.

Print of the Month

We talk a lot about the different things that we do: the live printing, the events, the fun stuff, our friends, and our shop. But what we do on a day to day basis—the thing that we are best at—is printing in our shop. It’s what we spend the most time, energy, and resources on, and it’s what we are most proud of. So this month we are starting a Print of the Month feature in our Newsletter, where we take our favorite print from the month, break it down, and explain how it came together.

Our October Print of the Month is:

Rocket Summer 1

The Rocket Summer – Crowd Photo

1 Color (Black 7 C) on Tultex 0202 – White

Here we have a great print based on a great photo from one of our oldest customers. If you somehow haven’t heard of it, The Rocket Summer is the solo project of Bryce Avary (don’t be embarrased, go listen to it).

Rocket Summer 2

Rocket Summer 3

Jesse is our Creative Director. He splits his time between the Art Department and Creative duties, looking to innovate and push the company in both areas (unless he overslept.)
